Winter Care Drive 2019

Winter Care Drive 2019

“Those who spend their wealth (in Allah’s way) by night and by day, secretly and publicly – they will have their reward with their Lord. And no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.” (Al – Baqarah : 274)

With the cold weather fast approaching, we’ve all taken out our winter gear and are ready to bundle up to face the harsh climate of Canadian winters. But for a lot of people, the sad reality is that they do not have a winter jacket, let alone other winter supplies. This is why we are collecting brand new coats and winter accessories such as gloves, mittens, scarves and hats. These items will be delivered to people in need, right here in the community.

So send your reward ahead  by helping us clothe our neighbors appropriately for this winter. Donate new jackets and winter accessories today! For your added convenience, you can also contribute with monetary donations and we will purchase coats on your behalf. Together, let’s help keep our neighbors warm this winter!

All coats and accessories can be dropped off at Alhuda reception or placed on the black table in the cafeteria. Monetary contributions can be dropped off in the golden donation bins around the institute at, 5671 McAdam Road, Mississauga.
Join us for our packing event on Saturday, November 30, 2019, from 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm and help us make winter care kits. Sign up here to volunteer!

Winter Coat Drive 2016

Winter Coat Drive

Our Winter Coat Drive started when a staff member was wondering what to do with a gently used coat that she had but did not use any longer. This is how the Winter Coat Drive began; we decided to collect new and gently used coats and distribute to those who require them. Since the project launch, the Winter Coat Drive has returned every winter to help provide the gift of warmth. Coats are collected according to age and gender, and distributed accordingly.
